Get Pikeman through Spearman → Pikeman. Eurogamer’s October 1 evolution guide describes a unit-level 20 gate and an Evolve podium opposite Ascension. Train the selected Spearman in battles, open Evolve, choose it as the input and verify Pikeman in the output before confirming.
