Quick answer

Phalangite evolution

Update 3 coverage identifies Phalangite as Pikeman’s three-star evolution. Inspect the relevant Pikeman and its current Evolve panel; a general evolution guide is not proof of the exact cost for your copy.

Start from Pikeman

The Click’s Phalangite guide identifies Pikeman as the base and reports unit Mastery level 20 as the gate. If you are starting from a Spearman, follow the evolution route shown in game to obtain the required Pikeman first. Do not assume a base form can skip directly to the newest endpoint.

Check progression carefully

Read the level on the unit you will transform, not the commander’s account level. If the action is locked, note the exact condition displayed. Additional copy, currency or menu conditions can be confused with the main level gate. Keeping the selected troop and the requirement panel together is more reliable than switching among screenshots of different copies.

  1. Locate the Pikeman you want to develop.
  2. Review its Mastery and the visible route.
  3. Inspect the resulting Phalangite preview and cost.
  4. Keep any required copies out of automatic cleanup.
  5. Confirm only after understanding every item consumed.

Prepare for the formation change

An evolved endpoint can affect your equipment budget or the job you expect a slot to perform. Do not use a rarity number as proof that the troop will solve every defensive problem. Write down the approach your current spear slot struggles to stop, then compare the evolved copy in that situation. Keep the other three slots stable so you can understand the tradeoff.

Use the current version, not launch hype

The October balance briefing explains why reported post-launch adjustments need careful naming and date checks. A launch clip can show a different build or different progression. Record the patch context with your card. If a report uses “Fangite” or another spelling, verify the unit in the game rather than silently treating every similar name as identical.

A useful post-evolution test

QuestionObservation to record
Can it perform the old slot’s job?Contact duration and support contribution
Does it need a different order?Where it stops, turns or becomes isolated
What did the army give up?Equipment budget and missing role coverage
Is further investment justified?A repeated problem the next upgrade addresses

If the new form does not immediately win, diagnose the rest of the formation before spending more. The formation guide offers role-based planning, while Morningstar is a separate evolution project. Neither should be treated as a reason to discard a useful existing army without a comparison.
