October balance changes

October 10 coverage reports improvements to Knight and the Javelineer line, and reductions for Spear Vanguard and the spear evolution named Phalangite elsewhere. These are reported directions, not our own measured patch values.

This table summarizes Roonby’s October 10 report. Because its spelling differs for the final unit, verify that entry against the game or developer notes before applying a precise stat change to your roster. We do not present the report as an official numerical changelog.

Separate patches from progression

A unit card can change because you leveled the copy, altered its Skill Tree, ascended it, or entered a different bonus condition. Before comparing two screenshots, check those fields. If more than one changed, the screenshots cannot isolate the patch. Use the same troop copy and record the displayed modifiers before drawing conclusions.

Run a controlled formation test

  1. Keep three army slots unchanged and test one affected troop in the fourth.
  2. Compare the same battlefield job: holding contact, protected damage or responding to a flank.
  3. Record side, map, troop progression and opponent composition.
  4. Look for repeated changes across ordinary matches rather than declaring a result from one favourable fight.

A nerfed defensive unit can remain the correct answer to a specific approach. A buffed unit can still fail when it arrives unsupported. The aim is to discover whether a slot solves your recurring problem, not to replace a whole army whenever a patch headline appears.

When to change your build

Change one slot when the old plan repeatedly stops achieving its job under comparable conditions. Keep the alternative inexpensive to test before adding permanent Skill Tree investment. If the problem is positioning or orders, replacing a troop may hide the error for one round without solving it. Use the formation guide to diagnose role gaps first.

Reading older rankings

Check the ranking date, roster coverage and progression assumptions. A launch ranking may omit new troops; a later ranking may combine maxed copies with starter copies. This page deliberately avoids inventing a new S-to-C order. A credible October ranking needs comparable live cards and gameplay evidence, not only a list of reported buffs.
